Greeeting all.

I just found out that my engine has .015" end play. What is the specs?

Did you check it using a magnet based dial indicator? Probably not. There is likely to be some error with the measurement so I wouldnt be too worried about it. After a good break in, this is typical.......or is this a new motor? If its a new motor, hopefully this is the number you got after crushing the bearing by smacking the crank front to back a few times.

No. It was with a magnetic based Dial gauge. I was checking it at the front pulley. Using a pry bar to move it back and forth. Set it all the way back zeroed the gauge and move it forward (and held it). I don't know how long it has been this way. The magnet on the drain plug had the normal "dust" on it at every oil change. And that is how I was keeping track of it. The two times it went when in the Olds. I had Big chunks on the magnet. We will see what at the next oil change.

Time to start tearing down the "109" block that original came in the car.

The engine is 6 years old and has about 10,000 to 15,000 miles on it.

Yeah, they're called dial indicators. Looks like you got a good reading. I wouldnt sweat it too much. Run a heavier oil and you should be ok. I had a thrust bearing tap noise going on, and going with valvoline SYN (supposed to be one of the best synthetics out there), 20W-50, and my engine is so much quieter everywhere its ridiculous.

I will check again before the season starts. And after a few Hard T-brake practice launchs. If it has change allot then I will be concerned. If not I'm going to assume it has been like that for a while.
