According to the Buick Power Source manual it measures 4.335" on the 3.8L Stage1 block. Is it the same for the production '109, Stage2 3.8L and 4.1L Stage blocks??

It also reads that the deck height of the 3.8L Stage1 block is 9.560", but the Stage1 4.1L and all Stage2 blocks are 9.535". I thought that was interesting. What is the deck height of the '109 production block?

TIA,

Keith

I am guessing (but I have not measured) that the cam-crank centerline is the same for all but the few rare raised cam blocks (somebody posted on here last year w/one of those). The S1 3.8s got the 9.560" deck height because the production blocks had this deck height prior to 1985. When they went to the composite gaskets in mid 1985, they revised the deck height to 9.535" to retain the same deck clearance with the thicker gasket.
