Howdy,
As some of ya'll may know I'm working on adapting the gerotor oil pump off of a Series II 3800 V6 onto my 4.1. Well most of the bolts match up but the relocated the oil feed passage 0.5" inboard and 0.25" higher on the block so the oil gets to the pump but not into the block again. This is where the trickery come into play. I was planning on running an external dual filter setup anyway and while poking around with a pipe cleaners in the block I noticed that there is a straight shot through the oil pressure sender/ turbo oil feed hole in the side of the block into the main oil gallery. Can I just block off the feed passage in the timing cover and run the feed off of the outlet of the remote filter into the sender hole and feed the turbo off of the filter like I was planning on doing anyway? Another option is that the Series II front cover also has the oil pressure sender in the filter adapter so I could route the oil out that hole through an external line into the other oil sender hole in the block.
Feedback about the feasiblity of this is appreciated. Thanks,
