Is there a useful Cruise troubleshooting chart here on this site? I used the Search feature and couldn't find one. I have read previous threads on this. A vague online Cruise repair site wasn't helpful because of the way it was written.

Symptom: Cruise won't work.

1) All is ok at the brake pedal, and am getting the Cruise light above 30 or so. Shuts off with pedal.
2) The servo solenoid is clicking,so I'm getting power to there.
3) Changed the turn signal stalk. No fix.
4) Changed the Cruise Module. No fix.
5) Tried the Cruise the last time I changed ECM's in search of the skip/surge at light throttle. No fix.
6) Checked that the black wire at the servo is grounded. Yes.
7) Servo is getting vacuum.
8) Blocked the vacuum release to switch on the pedal, thinking there is a leak in that switch. No change.
9) With engine running,I put power to the green, and grounded the black. *Click!*...but no servo suck-in.

Then the hood slammed on my head.

Unlike my other GM cars that I've had for years, this one kicks my a$$.

Thanks for any input.

Problem solved. My '87 GN had a faulty Cruise servo.

I did a search on an auto parts site for my GN,and one of my '90 Olds Ciera's for a Cruise servo. Both searches came up with the same part #.

Since the Cruise works in my cherry 50k mi '90 Ciera,I put that servo in the GN. The Ciera then got a $10 one from a '92 Century in a j/y.

Now I've got perfectly working Cruise. Now onto the next issue.
