I just heard this this yesterday afternoon and could not stop laughing. A guy I work with told me a mutual friend of ours related this to him the other night.

Our friend had told his son he would match the money his son saved when it came time to buy a car for junior.

The son tells dad he is ready to go buy the car he wants so dad goes along with out a clue as to what they are going to look at.

The son takes him to the new car showroom and dad's thinking they are going into the showroom to get a salesman.

Wrong, junior points to a new four wheel drive and says that's the vehicle he's getting and dad say's "son the sticker says $27,000.00".

Junior shows him his bankbook with $14,000.00 saved up and says "you said you would match what I save"!

The dad had to finance his half and the kid drove it home.

I'm still laughing!

Try that with a private college. I'm on the hook for 1/2 my son's education. That's OK, 2 years out he's making 20k more than me.;)

My Dad said he'd pay half too... Then the story changed when I said I wanted a 1969 Firebird. Parents said it was too much car for me. So I decided on a 1978 Camaro... Still too much car... They decided on a 1982 VW Rabbit diesel... I paid in full. Dad paid for tires...

My dad bought me an 86 iroc tpi. I got to pay for repairs which cost way more than the car did:mad:
