have a VDO Top Eliminator, and Casper's adapter, tach has 4 dip switches. VDO says 6cyl =1off/2on. 3rd is for recording time and 4th is ignition type standard=on, electronic=off,CD(box)=on and CD ( + side of coil )=off. i played with every combination of these either it 1:sits at 800 and barely moves when i hit the throttle 2: idles at 2500 and reacts to throttle correctly ( although some 2000rpm higher than Scanmaster ) or 3: idles at 5500 and reacts to throttle correctly ( although higher) any suggestions? this is driving me CRAZY

On some tachs, in the past anyway, there was a requirement to cut a specific wire for 6 cylinder applications. A shot in the dark, but after trying 64 possible combinations you must be ready to hear another idea by now :)
