Aloha Gang,

Im putting my Stage II (153) together and noted that the crank damper appears to be protruding out alot further than it should. I used the (BHJ) damper from my Stage 1 block. Do I have to machine the current damper down or purchase a new one altogether. Any advise would be appreciated. I'm new to the Stage II arena.

It will not be sticking out further than it should any any block. The front cover(providing it is a stock type one) will be out further than the S1 block and you will need to machine the cover or shim the cam gear and crank damper out the distance the block is stepped out from the cam bearing. You will see this if you look a the front of the block. The off-center blocks have the front face all the same dimension and the on-centers do not.

It sounds like you may have a fitment issue currently. I would check into this first.
