I have a 200R4 (non-BRF) in my N/A 87 Regal..

First thing in the morning, there's a 10-20 second delay after putting in in Drive before it catches. It gets worse the colder it gets. What causes this?

Good question. My g/f's car, an 88 Pontiac Grand Am, does this exact same thing. After the car warms up, there is no problem. It mainly does it the first time you crank it in the morning.

sounds like your car has morning sickness .this usually happens when the lip seals change from their original rubbery ,pliable state to a hard state caused by normal use or overheating/overloading over a long period of time .trhis is common w/ automatic transmissions and does point to a needed overhaul.www.ckperformance.com
