The Democratic party isn't the same as it used to be. It seems to be a contest to see who can provide for those who can't, or won't provide for themselves at the expense of those who can. It's becoming more and more socialist/communist than the already were.

The Republicans appear to be slowing sliding in the same direction. Granting asylum to illegal aliens, providing prescription coverage to those who can't (or won't) arrange their life to get it on their own-compliments of the US Government (the taxpayer-YOU), failure to protect US borders, bigger and not smaller government and so on.

I'm not affiliated with any political party but believe this country was founded upon the philosophy of self reliance. But this doctrine doesn't garner votes from the increasing population which relies on freebies and hand-outs.

A major change is going to be needed in this country's leadership OR the people will need to rise and make changes on their own. As Bill O'Reilly asks "Who's Looking Out For You"? It certainly isn't any part of this huge federal government. If they did they'd lock down the borders and prevent the free flow of illegals as a good start.

I agree with everything you say...unfortunately the government knows that the "moral minority" will never rise up to take our country back. And thrive on that.

The fact that we are polarized politicaly at 50/50 is scary. It shows we are not united. That can matter when the Shiite hits the fan, like when food is scarce, etc. Im so sure of this-The give me mentality will win out and we'll crumble from within.

I'll jump in here and give my .02 worth. The liberals are skinning and gutting our country at a sickening pace. Liberals are in both parties but more seem to gravitate towords the Democrats. All the negative tangents are attached to these liberals. Media;news and broadcast, all colleges and the thug for these liberals that make sure their agenda is implemented is the ACLU. They are attacking and tearing out the very fiber and foundation that our forefathers envisioned and built this great nation on. I don't know how religious any of you board members are but this country was built on solid biblical doctrine and moral principles.
If you take away the morality you have chaotic unchecked socialistic virus with no cure! This link shows the Democratic stance on a prayer penned by a Republican just goes to show you how far-gone and the viciousness with which they will defend and attack what they don't agree with or like. Especially if it is the truth.;)

To be fair to Bush, all of the Democratic candidates would go much further in giving illegals rights. I wish Pat Buchanan would run again as an anti-immigrant candidate. He would do well.

I agree. As I already stated I'm not a partisan and will vote for the best man for the job. However, it's getting much more difficult to support GW considering his stance on illegal immigration, nationwide health care, elimination of overtime pay, elimination of pensions, big government and so on. Maybe it's time for a more conservative party to rise to the occasion since the Republicans are obviously slipping. Which "other" party has values reflecting those more sane and that which our fore-fathers sought?

Do you guys really understand the plan? I thought it wasn't an amnesty, but instead they would be fingerprinted and giving an ID card which allowed them to come work legally at some job and go back to Mexico when they are done. This doesn't make them a citizen, lets them do the jobs no one else wants, and most importantlly is a step in keeping track of those crossing the border. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think they jumping the border to take high paying manufactuing jobs. Those usually move to them which is another story...

BTW, anybody see the show on Counterfet operations in China last night? I'm amazed we allow any of that crap over here....

I think your forgeting that they can bring there whole family with them. There family usually consist of more than four to five adults and how many children are you getting the big pictue yet? 1 illegal will multiply to 6. And who will take care of there familys it sure wont be the 7.50 job they get. arent are schools and states in defict to the point of no return already? I know for sure california is and my state of Illinios is in the craper to. It amazes me how blind most AMERICANS are to whats happening till its YOUR problem.:mad:

This isn't to mention this "amnesty" program accomplishes what else?... Encourages more illegals to come here because there is no negative consequence to breaking our immigration laws. Why do we have those laws and the Border Patrol in the first place?

We need to SEAL the border with the US Military then begin a serious round-up effort and get them out of here. Once this is accomplished we can get some sort of worker program initiated and track them the right way.

This program was supposed to have worked when Reagan did it, all it seemed to accomplish is make illegals legal and encourage more to come here illegally.

You boys please take time to read this:

At about the time our original 13 states adopted their new constitution, in the year 1787, Alexander Tyler (a Scottish history professor at The University of Edinborough) had this to say about "The Fall of The Athenian Republic" some 2,000 years prior:

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."

"The average age of the worlds greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From Bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage."

Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the most recent Presidential election:

Population of counties won by:
Gore = 127 million
Bush = 143 million

Square miles of land won by:
Gore = 580,000
Bush = 2,2427,000

States won by:
Gore = 20
Bush = 30

Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:
Gore = 13.2
Bush = 2.1

Professor Olson adds:

"In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was mostly the land owned by the tax-paying citizens of this great country. Gore's territory encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off government welfare . . ."

Olson believes the U.S. is now somewhere between the "apathy" and "complacency" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy with some 40 percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase

Captain Mark,
You need to be promoted to Admiral-Dat Da Bomb what you wrote! Fired up the printer for that one.

You just add in natural propensities to the way some blocks of people vote , and the whole process will be soon, I say in 20 years or so. Like it is FACT the women vote for the candidate with the best looks. Other facts can be derived along racial, geographic lines.

Ever have a political discussion with a hard working blue collar Dumocrat? He actually believes tha "crats are one his side even when he hates his paycheck deductions. That is amazing brainwashing.

Buchanan would be awesome. If I had better health, Id be trying to organized marches. I hope the younger ones on this board are readingand thinking about this stuff, though I know I didnt follow politics until about 30 y/old.

They must realize that Los Angeles is coming to their city-they cant know what it used to be like as they have never seen it.

The next two most popular parties are leftist Green Party and the anti-government Libertarian Party. We need a good rightist party. Europe has had much recent success with rightist parties such as England's British National Party and France's LePen Party. Austria also has a good right-wing party (the name escapes me now) once led by Jorge Hader. The problem of having one, however, is the media will always criticize them as being racist or intolerant. :rolleyes:

I would support a dictatorship as long as it will assure me the end of abortion, the end of immigration (and sending illegals back), the end of affirmative action and special rights, the end of gay rights, the end of gun-control laws, the end of window tinting laws (for you TT/A1233, lol), and the return of prayer in school (and foring kids to stand during the Pledge). Suddenly, a dictatorship sound very good in deed...

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

George W. Bush was once asked a few years back something like "Do you oppose all dictatorships?" and he replied "Yes, unless I was the dictator." Awesome responce that shows he has potential, if only he can somehow do it.

The Romans did the same thing a long time ago. They were a republic, which is where we got our type of government. They came under attack, and decided that a dicatator could make better, quicker decisions during this time and voted in a dictator. Thus ending the most glorious days of Rome. They steadily went down hill after that. Our representative form of gov't. is the best thing about our country IMHO. I could never turn over ALL power to one person.....even if he was a Texan!:)

This is only one example why I stay away from the Democratic Party. I realize this may not represent the entire party but, it does not represent the entire nation whose beliefs (the majority) are not shared with their sorry immoral views.:mad:

I really like the repulicans who always pivot on issues like gay marrige and abortion these are minute issues compared to the defict, off shore corps pulling our jobs,the war which was BS. Like I said before stay blind till its your problem. If your wooried about gay marriage theres a name for that its called homofobia thats the least of my worries
