i'm trying to pin down my braking problem. whenever i mash the brake the light comes on and the pedal goes hard. then a few seconds later the brakes will work. it's probably the accumulator.
whenever i try to depressurize it, i hear air escaping through the filler cap and the pedal feel doesn't change after 10 or 20 brake pumps. is that normal? i just want to make sure that it's the accumulator before i buy a new one.
also, after 10 or so brake pumps, when i turn the key to "on" the motor doesn't run. which also leads me back to the accumulator but i'm not sure that it's depressurized because of the air that i can hear escaping. with the key "on" and i hit the brakes i can hear the motor run.
