destroking a carbed 4.1???? anyone know the recipe???

heres what im looking to do........i saw a article on this site and wondered what his secret is for the destroking......i have come up with a few ideas but have no way of knowing if there correct....... heres the link: http://home.flash.net/~rjgeorge/cosner.htm he mentions everything else they used but never mentions the destroking in detail.........

also anyone have a detroked/stroked buick v6 n/a????

and also does anyone have a well built buick v6 with old school stuff such as headers, intake, cam.....and usuall tricks....??????

id like to see some numbers or how well they run...i know factory is kinda ****ty so this is why im wondering.......

Well there are a couple of ways you could go. One is using a 4" bore, a 3.23" stroke and a 6.5" rod. Or use a 3.830" bore, a 3.500" stroke and a 6.380 " rod.
As far as non race build ups... I built a street run NA V6 using an Edelbrock Performer Manifold and cam package along with a Holley 390 CFM vac secondary carb. (I had to hand make the headers.) It was pretty quick for what it was, but no comparison to the SFI setup.
There is a old book called "How to Hotrod your Buick V6" that gives some race build ups and a bunch of info.

thankx for the info....now any idea where to get the rods etc...??? lol.....or would i have to go custom?im new to buciks so im not real familair what will work and what wont........etc........on the header end i know they make a set for transplants into jeeps.....so i wasnt sure if this would work or not.........plus i think i saw a company sellin some but maybe not........if nuthin else this tt setup i may buy i may build or buy blokoffs for the turbos and that way if i go turbo i can always change it...might be cheapest way to go........oh well we'll c....

also whats the stock rod lentgh of my 4.1? i never saw these specs only stroke so.......

well i guess the first setup u mentioned is the one im most interested in since i have the 4.1 and a 4.000 bore is .035 over what i haveand the other bore u mentioned is smaller then what i have so....................so where would i get rods for this setup and would anything need done to crank? since i noticed he used a 4.1 crank ...........

anyone done this id love to hear from ya??????

also anyone running nitrous on a n/a buick???? like a 50 shot????
