Just watched Jesse destroy a very nice '71 El Camino SS. Walked up to the car at a swap meet, paid the seller $8,500 for it, took it to the shop and destroyed it! I think he could've found something not as rare to ruin. Oh yea, claimed it was a factory big block car, too.

lol i saw that....just as long as some dum a s s doesn't sell his t-type to jessie then ill be cool :D

hahaha id love to see them take the one and only white GNX and make it some hacked up POS and put a small block in it just to see the look on all the GN owneers faces, ahhahah, its just a car bojjes!!!

not fun anymore

Just checked in to see how many posts and what the thoughts were on the latest episode. Surprised there weren't more comments. I will repeat a statement that I just viewed on discovery.com - "I suspect the show just lost a lot of fans!" I actually turned it off, then back on to see the end to see if it was a joke. I won't be watching again. I had a lot of respect for James' talent and thought it was a lot of fun. But when you start cutting up classics for no reason other than shock value you lose me. By the way, the car also had factory air which made it more rare.
We all know there are lots of other less valuable victims that could have been used for his one night stand at the race track. And why are high dollar engine parts (chrome headers and an aluminum radiator!) necessary on a car destined to be demolished? What a waste!

I suggest the Discovery Channel run just one show where a Picasso is purchased and then cut to pieces so that "the others will be more valuable". I would love to read the feedback on that one. Perhaps a new reality series is in order. Every week, irreplaceable items of value
could be destroyed for our viewing pleasure. Maybe even burn down a few historical landmarks. Ratings will be great! Sorry, I'm tuning out.

The part I hate is they try to show the cost of the projects and end up getting some real high dollar "donations". Totaly bogus. I would really like to see a show that was honest about the cost of doing the project they are working on ie: retail prices.

Monster Garage is one of the most idiotic automotive shows ever made. What a waste. JMO though.

I look at it like this... It was his $8500, His car. He can do what ever he wants with it. You wouldn't want somone telling you that your stupid or idiotic for doing something to your car.I agree it was hard watching him tear that rare Car/truck into pieces, but I can't see how the show can be called the most idiotic automotive show on t.v. It shows off some incredible talents of everyday working men and women like me and you. As for the "donations" sure they didn't pay for them.... But keep in mind It's T.V. I've yet to see a reality show that's actually realistic. It's for Entertainment purposes only. IMO I don't think they should have used the ElCamino... But I also think Jesse is the man!

I didn't like it back when they took a really nice Bronco either. They made a pretty good rock crawler, and he intentionally tried to wreck it since he didn't know what he was doing. Didn't like seeing the El Camino on there either. If all they're going to do is cut and fab, why not use a junker? Works for Junkyard Wars, imagine what those people could do with a week. The target audience for Monster Garage are the same people that probably don't want to see a classic get ruined. Bad move. I'll keep watching, but I prefer Monster House and American Chopper. Even my wife considers those our regular shows to watch.

I agree, they need to just drop the budget thing. It doesn't mean anything. Monster House is pretty good, and they don't worry about any kind of budget.

Alright, then. Everbody stop bitching about the GN with the Superbird looking wing on the back.

Jesse used to be the man. Have you guys seen what Paul at Orange County Choppers is building:eek:  :D ;)

Jesse is still the man. As is Paul Teutel, But you can't compare them to each other. They build two Different styles of choppers. But they do have one thing in common. They are both unaffordable:mad:

Oh come on guy's think about this for a moment they did it for the ratings.
They were smart enough not to do it to a rare Vette or Z28, I know it was a rare car but it is not as sought after as some others but it sounds liked there idea worked they upset some people, those people talk about it to others, then those others watch to see what other wild and crazy (stupid) things they will try.
Mike you know being from KCMO that this works, look at Jason Wittlock in the paper he comes up with some of the most dumb@ss things to say but now he is on national radio, and TV, and he is always on ESPN.

As far as who build better bikes J James or the Teutles, PLEASE all they do at OCC most of the time is put bought parts together. I would like to see someone put Paul jr. in front of a english wheel and tell him to make a tank and some fenders.

Jesse James is the man.

No, he makes the wheels on a CNC machine, not by hand. J/K:) Points well taken. Apples and oranges. But they both are Bad A$$

LOL, Got a point there. They are made by machine and in his shop, not sent out for somone else to make.:D

I liked the episode where Jesse drew a wheel on a napkin, hands it to the CNC operator and BOOM, he has a wheel!! Too cool:D Must be rough to have all of that at your fingertips.

YEAH! That was the Motorcycle Mania documentary. Truly awesome. When used properly It's amazing what alot of money and talent can do. As soon as I win the lottery I'm going to be on his three year waiting list!:D I guess I should start playin.

I think they both farm out the engine work, heart of the bike.
I have a lot of respect for the skills that Jesse has, but I don't fault OCC for being less hands on. I can buy one hell of a house built by a guy who didn't so much as touch a hammer. He knows the best carpenter, the best electrician, the best...on and on. Knowing the best to go to when you know you aren't the best is more important sometimes.
The frames and tanks they use are their designs, they've mentioned that before. Makes sense. On Leno, or some talk show, they said the sell 30-40 bikes a month. I assume that's a different division than shown on the show. Those guys are having all of the fun drumming up business. Plus, some steel business is where the real money comes from, I'm sure. Jesse sells parts too, as mentioned on the documentary, and that's what keeps him going too. He didn't hand build for his mail order business.
They all do something I can't, just not in quite the same way as each other. Jesse more custom fabrication, OCC more cool details.

Heh! Heh! You obviously missed the recent episode where they chopped the crap out of a very nice, one-owner, big-block 1973 Corvette & turned it into a 4x4 mud racer. They removed the center console with a hammer... :o
