On a TE-60 turbo how can you tell the difference between a 31 trim exhaust wheel and a 76 (p trim) exhaust wheel? Differant number of blades? Are these the only trim options offered on a turbonetics TE-60 turbo with a precision exhaust housing?

Huge difference between those two wheels.

The T-31 "Stage 3" as some call it, measures:
2.559" Inducer and 2.228" Exducer

The P trim turbine wheel measures:
2.920" Inducer and 2.542" Exducer

There is also a huge difference in stall speed requirements for these turbine wheels on a Turbo Buick. Both companies (Us and T-netics) have used these wheels on the 60 series turbos.

Here is a picture you can use to help you measure the turbine wheels' inducer and exducer.

99% of the time, a TE60 turbo would have a T-31 or Stage 3 turbine wheel.
The Precision turbine housing would have part number THB3-31 behind one of the turbine housing clamps, if it's for the T-31 turbine wheel.
If it was for the P-trim wheel, it would have part number THB3-76 on it.

HTH.

Pat -thanks for this info-I believe my te-60 is stamped with a 31 on it, would you know what the two stall requirements would be and maybe how many blades are actually on the two different turbine wheels?
