The thread about the aluminum Weld Draglite and Prostar wheels physically cracking is downright scary, http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=47062&referrerid=3144 .

I had been considering buying DragLites, but no more.

Are there any known instances of Centerline brand wheels cracking, specifically the ConvoPro or Telstar models ?

Having owned several sets of Centerlines over the years, I've never had a forged Centerline fail in ANY way. I've seen them involved in several accidents with direct impacts on concrete walls and steel guardrails. I've seen them bend, but never seen them crack. I've got 15 x 7s and 15 x 10s on my Cutlass, I've owned them for near 20 years, they've seen 200K miles of use and abuse, and several hundred race passes, with zero problems.

I have several freinds who autocross daily drivers on centerlines and have GREAT results.

If anyone ever sees the car on MTV that 2pac was shot in, it had centerlines The wheel had a flat side where the car dropped onto the street when the tire blew. It held up VERY well for what happened to it.

IMO, centerline makes a great wheel for the price. If you want a cashy forged rim you can buy boyd-coddington's for around 1500 with no tires.

I've seen Centerlines take a direct impact and never crack. They are tough!

Got Convo-Pros on my car, fronts are 15x4, rears are 15x8.5 and I drive it on the street with these rims most of the time. No cracking whatsoever. Not bent either, and I've actually hit some pretty good sized bumps and potholes (not car-eaters tho!).

I've been running Convo Pros and Auto Drags for years! Never a problem with Centerline!
