i judt put a thrasher for 009 in my car, stumble still there.
i replaced with a ra chip, stumble just about gone, very little

on the down side, the car does not pull as hard with the ra chip.

i may have to try a jim testa chip ?

good luck, let us know what works best for you.
every car is different.

The old addage of "every car is different" is true. And with today's TRs having more and more aftermarket pieces being added to them (that weren't even contemplated back in '94 when these chips were developed), I've now come to the conclusion that "every car is more and more different" is also very much true.

Lately some people have had bad luck with the Thrasher 009 chips. I will gladly refund anyone their money if a Thrasher doesn't work for them. However, there are lots of people that have run very well with the 009 Thrasher chips - Joe Reif and Ken Mosher are two of the people that ran 11.70s/11.80s with the 009 Thrasher chips. As such, I am convinced that this is a very good chip and will continue to sell them to whoever wants to try them.

That statement applies to the stock and Blue Top chips. If you run a Thrasher for 009s then the upper echelon of turbos that has worked with this chip is the PT63-1.

Well if its good enough for Ken, its good enough for me. Thanks Scott, I will send out a check tommorrow. I'm still tryin to get this thing running properly though, so I was doing some reading on the thrasher site. My irratic idle is still present at times, I'm thinking it may all be related. Could the coolant temp sensor have anything to do with this? And what the hell is the mat sensor? Those are two things that have not been checked as far as I know. Thanks again to everyone that has responded to my thread...Mark

A working coolant sensor has nothing to do with an erratic idle. The Mass Air Temperature sensor doesn't really have anything to do with the car.

Thanks Scott, I really didnt think so, just grasping at this point. I talked to Lee Howie last night, he's coming down for the holidays, gonna help me get her going. So I think, maybe I'll finaly be ok. He built the motor, he seems to think he can straighten her out:) Either way I will be sending out the check for the Thrasher108 today. Thanks!

The MAT tells the MAF and ECM the temp of the incoming air so it can make minor a/f adjustments.

The coolant temp sensor help the ECM decide when to go into closed loop when the car is sufficiently warmed up. If it is not functioning it can make the car rich because the engine thinks the engine is cold, but it will usually throw a code when bad.

If you have the cash I would get either an ME or trans+, then you can fine tune the car to whatever you want. But $500 is a big decision. For $25 its worth trying a Thrasher, but depending on how fast you want to go eventually you may end up wanting an ME anyways
