does anyone know about microsoft

i have winodws xp 2003 and everytime i go to use ms word it ask me for a product key , i know what that's the code that came with the books, but i don't know where the hell the books are, is there a way to by-pass this or am i screwed?

Did you mean OfficeXP2003? Im going to assume you have Windows XP with Office XP installed with it.

If this is a bundled product (purchased with comp) you can call the manufacturer or even Microsoft. They might be able to help you.

* If it WAS working, try using System Restore unless disabled
* If it came bundled/preinstalled, some comp vendors provide a way for you to do a "repair" rather than a complete overwrite while in recovery mode. "Recovery mode" is usually accessed on bootup before windows loads.

Failing that, if its been installed and working - but only erroring lately - you can use some freeware software to "find" your key on the machine if its still there.

Failing all THAT you could always go the illegal route.
