I don't even have to read the article. The answer is, yes it works. On our crappy CA 91 octane gas I would get knock at anything above 14 psi. I used to be able to get 16 psi with no knock back when our gas was 92 and before they put all the emissions reducing additives in it and wattered it down. After the gas got knocked down to 91 octane 13-14 psi was it. When adding xylene I went from 14 psi to 18 with no KR. Anyone that claims that xylene doesn't work obviously knows nothing about turbo Buicks. I've since switched to just running 111 octane leaded with my ME chip. I have a speedshop by me that sells 111 cheap enough that it no longer makes sense having to mess with xylene. Also the 111 provides much better performance. Good luck.
