I don't even have to read the article. The answer is, yes it works. On our crappy CA 91 octane gas I would get knock at anything above 14 psi. I used to be able to get 16 psi with no knock back when our gas was 92 and before they put all the emissions reducing additives in it and wattered it down. After the gas got knocked down to 91 octane 13-14 psi was it. When adding xylene I went from 14 psi to 18 with no KR. Anyone that claims that xylene doesn't work obviously knows nothing about turbo Buicks. I've since switched to just running 111 octane leaded with my ME chip. I have a speedshop by me that sells 111 cheap enough that it no longer makes sense having to mess with xylene. Also the 111 provides much better performance. Good luck.

the part i thought sounded wrong was when he said toluene was only like 103 octane...i thought it was near the 117 mark....and they were talking about mixing 1:1 when we mix 3:1 to get the 100 or so out of it...

also with avgas, i have run 21 psi at 28* timing on stock injectors and turbo/IC and went 106...but thats another arguement

No need for me to read the article :D . The GN time below is obtained with a 3:1 Xylene mix, and the Red T ran 7.9s, the 7.86 was on a cooler night with some 110. Argue with that

Ok, just read the "article", and the sources listed at the bottom are Race Fuel suppliers, not Xylene distributers;) . Therefore Xylene is bad is does not work :p ;)
