I have a spacer/plate, under the doghouse that I'm wondering what is. It is about 1/4 inch thick, and black inm color. I can see the gasket on the top and bottom of it. Is this too thick for an RJC power plate? Does this sound like an item that was used back in the day? Was RJC plates ever this thick? Thoughts appriciatted!

No. It's probably just a spacer. Best way to be sure is to pull the doghouse off and see.

Post a pic if u can, the rjc power plates are only like 1/16- 1/8" thick & are the aluminum color & are stamped rjc.

sounds like a phenolic (plastic) spacer

rjc is 1/8" natural aluminum

I beleive it's probably a plastic spacer, it's black in color, so I guess it isn't an rjc. It has a larger SLIC, they may have needed the spacer to level it back up with the larger IC. Thanks guys!

Can an RJC be used in conjunction with this spacer, or will the spacer defeat the power plates purpose.
