downpipe question

I have this ATR downpipe that came with the bracket to mount to the strap between the header flange and DP, Just like the OEM downpipe. The ATR bracket ripped off the DP leaving me with an exhaust leak the size if a penny.

Question is, do have the bracket welded back on and continue to use it as the factory DP came? or do I just weld up where the bracket was and forget about that strap-to- header alltogether?

Have the bracket welded back on. You need it to support the pipe.

Thanks Steve, I had it put back on to give me the option, but I'm wondering how aftermarket DP owners who don't have this bracket support the DP?

What's the worst that happens without it?

All of my 3" down pipes I sell have the brackets. Not only do they suport the pipe but it also keeps the pipe up and away from the frame.
