hi, a question about gbodyparts 3" stock replacement downpipe. It's suppose to fit and it looks like nice clean pipe from the website. I'm going to rebuilt my stock turbo soon, I don't need a larger turbo, I only run 16-17psi of boost....would this 3" pipe make a difference for me, would the stock turbo spool up better and flow nice and safely without problems. Or should I just stay with stock downpipe with the elbow....There's no dents or holes in it, just looks old, works o.k I guess. I don't race, just a weekend car, I don't beat it....I have a few small mild mods, but the motor is stock including transmission.mantainence is very good on the car( wires/spark plugs/diff oil/motor oil/fluids etc). I still have the originial powermaster brake system.

-009's/TT chip 93-94/valve cover breather/walbro 340 ss fuel pump/hotwired/new 4 frame body-bushings/rearseat brace kit/new hooker dual exhaust(no test or dump pipe)/adjustable fuel pressure regulator/adjustable wastegate/rjc boostcontroler/k&n 9"cone filter with maf pipe with stock maf sensor/stock headers, stock turbo(oil seal leak), and stock downpipe, stock intercooler. For some reason I'm still thinking about it? what do guys think..Or I can just ask my friend that works on my car he's a great guy with alot of experience on these turbo buicks?

I just recently sold one along with the stock elbow and waste gate.
Its a nice cheap upgrade. It will help the turbo spool a little fast and breath better. To get the most out of it for "free" port the stock elbow and get rid of the cat.

Thanks Joe

joe thx for your reply, I want keep the cat, maybe just get a hi flow one. I'm not talking about the kirban downpipe that bolts to the stock restrictive elbow.....that's the way I was thinking of going. That was another post. It's the 3" gbodyparts.com downpipe less restrictive one that bolts directly to the turbo

Well then, even better. I just reread ur posts.

Yes that DP will make a difference, even more so than the 3" stock style replacement. Defiantly get a high flow, i personally always used the Thundercat high flow ss spun cats, small and sound great.

Thanks Joe
