i had one HELL of a time getting my drag radials mounted, first i go to sears and every things fine. i even waited for 2 hours for them to get my car in to the shop and when they did the kids that they let drive it set out side reving and then spun the tires inside the shop:rolleyes:after about another 30 mins or so im still standing there watching them when they start it up and spin the tires in reverse out of the shop and park it. so i walked up to the kid and asked them whats going on, he told me to go see the manager because she will not let them work on my car even thow the tires will fit. as soon as i walked threw the door that damned ol bitch of a manager walk up and says "we wont work on this car" so i asked why "those tires are to large for this car and theres no way that we can even fit them in the fender wells" (the REAL tire guys looked and said that it was close but that i should be fine but she never even poped the trunk to look at them) so in reply i asked "really? what size tires am i trying to get put on" ya wana know what her responce was? "i dont know" i dont friggen know:eek: and she setting here telling me that it wont work but she dont even know what tires im useing  so i keep going and said that i know personally of atleast 3 of these cars that have these tires and that they fit with out any problems "well your lieing and/or your friends and you are morons" (btw she called them slicks at one point) last friggen time im dealing with sears, im gona stop by tommaro and back in to there shop and show her what my tires are rubbing on.

so after a few more stops i end up at a texico with this fat on redneck who smelled alot like weed. i explained to him what i needed done and he said "i dont work on tires that small" i was kind of dumb founded because these 275/60/15s are down right huge. i asked him why not and he said that his tire changer would not work with tires that small before he even got done with his sentence i told him "bull ****, weve got that same tire changer at my technical school and i put the tires on that car my self with the same mechine" then he pretty much told me to **** off.

im getting tired of typeing so to sum up the rest i ended up at bell tire and they did it for 30 bucks (compaired to sears 75, sears had tacked a huge fee on for the size of the tire because "we have to use adiffrent machine" tough luck because they only had 1 type of machine) eather way bell tire put my tire on backwards so ill have to have it re done tommaro. can it hurt the tire running with them reversed like that? i dint notice the "this way in" stamped on the rubber until i got home.

Mistake #1 SEARS They are an abortion just waiting to happen.

I usually deal with a local INDEPENDANT type shop tire dealer in my city. (Not Goodyear, or Firebone)

They do nothing but tires & have the machines for everything.

Saw them doing HUGE slicks one day while I was dropping some work off to them.

I feel your pain. People just don't know the meaning of good customer service any more. Either they try to rip you off or can't do what you need them to do. This is why I cringe when I have to bring my car in for simple stuff like this! It usually turns into one of those annoying days.

I think my next move would be a letter to the Sears corporate offices explaining the treatment I received. Everyone is answerable to someone. I would try my damndest to rain on her parade.

This is a good idea. It pay's to complain.

I have actually e-mailed a zone manager for the treatment I got trying to return a $8 pilot bearing at Advanced auto AKA western auto.

I was a very good customer but as the help turnover changed they did not know me.
they started asking each other should we do it for him or not.
I said do WTF you want but I won't be back.

I wrote an emailed letter & got a $50 certificate. Went there used it & never went back.

i was going to do that but i think im going to take my tags off now and drive threw one door, and then out the other followed by a trail of smoke and bits of rubber.;) power hongrey people piss me off.:D

Yeah, like littlesixsteve said Sears was your number #1 mistake. Mistake #2 was actually letting them touch your car. I would have just brought the tires in OFF the car but not sure if you have another vehicle to transport them in. Luckily I have a friend that owns a wheel repair shop and another one that owns a Goodyear store so I usually get special treatment. No reason why they need a "special" machine to mount 275's.
