i want to ad a dual electric fan, but what wiring harness will i need to ad a electric fan. Can i use caspers fan harness, or do i need a dual fan wring harness?

On mine I used a dual fan setup out of a bonneville, fabbed it a bit and used a relay setup to turn the fan on and off with a temp sensor from jc whitney.

The way I did it was to buy two harnesses from casper's. The first duplicates the ecm/fan-relay wiring that came stock on the 86/87 cars, to allow the ECM to control teh fans (you need to have the 86/87 ECM upgrade done first). That harness only uses one relay though, which caspers says is not enough to handle the load of a dual fan. So they sell a dual relay harness that adds onto the first one. It all installed and plugged together nicely, and works like a charm. they may be able to make something special for you and your specific install. My advice would be to call them up and talk to one of the guys there, theyre very knowledgeable. Or, you could go to a junkyard and peice together what you need from other cars. I'm sure that would end up being cheaper, but it depends on your level of skill with wiring, and your budget, etc. For me it was worth it knowing it would be done right, with all new wires, connectors, etc. Just my 2 cents :)

I agree with flaboy, the fan conversion kit and dual relay kit are what I use on my car, and it works great. Of course you need the 86/87 ecm to run the fans tho.

Cool ride

I run a V-8 regal radiator $125 bucks, Factory C-5 Corvette (1997-2004) Cooling Fans ( used on E-bay $100 bucks, Factory cooling fan relays from any G.M. Car because they are available at every autoparts store ($15) and a cooling fan controller from O'Reillys made by Hayden for $35 dollars. Whats nice about this setup is the Hayden controller has a temp bulb that slides into the fins on your radiator and is adjustable with the twist of a screw driver from 160 degrees to 220 degrees. So Naturally I have my race setting and my keep warm in the winter setting. :D

finishline - that sounds about right. my fan came from a chevy citation, slight mods to put it on, toggle under dash - I like the adjustable setting you speak of - that's next..

fans

Hi,
Just sold a Nissan Altima two speed dual fan set up to my good buddy Jerryl, for use on his '84 GN. I'm sure he'll be talking to you guys soon about how he hooked it up. Maybe the Caspers set up is the way to go, sounds plausible. It's so easy to rig this stuff up, with a wiring diagram you can make any configuration you wish, just takes a little planning.. Good luck with you set up!
