What modifications are needed to dual feed a transmission, or do they come that way from the factory. I see it mentioned a lot and am just wondering what, when, how, etc.

If your talkin for 2004r:

http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/transmission-talk/244037-dual-feeding-cks-new-separator-plate.html

they didnt come from factory dual fed.

links should answer all questions -- leave out middle support ring, seal inside direct drum, or both, plug that center support bolt (governer check ball works nicely, cant remeber which one), and the plate, if you dont use a new plate, you have to do some drilling i think. Someone should chime in about this.

its done on other th's too, probably pretty similar mods.

You forgot to mention a billet shaft drum is required. Dont try it without it.

Bison, a billet shaft is not required unless the feed hole in the spacer plate have been drilled out from stock sizes, if duel feeding the direct(3rd) drum on a trans that has already "Had" the holes drilled from previous "Shift Kitting" the holes would need to be restricted(peened closed) and then redrilled to smaller size, when "Duel Feeding" both sides of apply piston there is no need to "Hit It" with oversized feed holes, unless you enjoy snapping shafts on 2-3 shifts with anything more than 135 psi line pressure.

Kevin.

At that level you probably wouldnt need to dual feed at all then. Over 600hp the friction life will be limited with the small feed hole. Shift timing isnt as good with small feed holes either.
