Dual gas tank help?

On my new ride an 1987 chevy truck I need to figure if my gas gauge reflects both tanks or just the one it is using gas from.

Anyone know???? I don't have the owners manual to read.

my uncles ford from 89 only shows one at a time, so I am guesing one at a time

Each tank has it's own sending unit.

IF you are able to switch the valve between the tanks the indication will follow.

On my dash I have a switch for LH & RH.
I was told the pump in the left tank is busted. I am not sure if any gas in still in that left tank.

Hey Steve,
If it is an electric pump for a TBI, drop me a line. I yanked the one out of my truck and replaced it with a higher flow one when I replaced the tank. Works fine.

But is this pump for a left side or a right side tank???

It is both. If you are in the truck, then it is on the left side. If you are in front of the truck, facing it then it is the right side. Very rare, and discontinued.
