guys...when is the dual nozzle alky kit necessary to have? what is the advantage of going to a dual nozzle over a single? i am getting ready to order my alky kit soon and i was just wondering which one should i get? will a single nozzle be enough for mid 11's?

Dual for your requirements.

Better atomization at high flow.

Won't be easy to run those times either on alky.

Some would argue its necessary right off the bat.

Two small nozzles generally atomize better than one big one.

For optimum performance a staggered system coming on at different boost levels is the best, but much more complicated. Steve Hill is using six nozzles I believe

In my opinion if your running mid 11's why take the chance with alcohol. Turn the alcohol off and run some good gas. Alcohol is more for the street to avoid spending $5 a gallon on good fuel. How often do you run mid 11's on the street?

well i am just looking to run as fast as i can with an alky setup...my car is 95% street and i only go to the track a couple times a year...i am sick of not being able to run more than 14-15 lbs of boost on the street with 93 octane...i would figure a dual nozzle alky setup would be good for 25 lbs of boost and good for e.t.s around 11.7-11.9 at least...that's all i am looking for...not neccessarily mid 11's...besides i have a 16 gallon drum of 118 octane fuel in my shed that i can always use if i wanted to run at the track in FULL race mode...i just hate tuning all the time...i want my car in ONE mode for street/strip and not have to worry about adjusting the boost, fuel pressure, changing chips...etc.

I'm running dual nozzle SMC kits in my cars. Could run more boost, spray more alchy, and run higher timing with 2 nozzles vs one. One runs mid 11's and other low 11's on straight 91 octane. Same as you I run with one tune. Takes to long tuning at the track to get a good run. With alchy I pull up and make a good pass the first time. One thing you have to remember though is with slicks on and your car sticks there is more load on the engine and induces knock easier. Increase alchy spray or reduce boost just a bit on the first pass then go from there.
