okay, I have had on a volt booster for years and wanted to remove it.. my question is.. on the back of the alternator there is a connector that is oval more or less and has a blue silicone back on it that connects to the alt. The one wire from the volt booster goes into a terminal in it and there is one other wire that is factory in another terminal. Will someone go look at theirs and tel me for sure that the factory connector has only ONE wire going in and what termainal does it go to? There are three and they are labeled with letters. F, is one (for field) can't remember the other two and let me know the factory setup so that I can return her to factory again

Thanks!

Frank, I am not sure I really understand the question but if I am correct which is hard to tell since I am at work and the car is at home. The brown or black wire you are speaking of would be the one to the left in the photo of the plug. This is the factory wire (Its a ground I believe). The pic shown below in the link is with the caspers volt booster installed. So theres a yellow wire next to it which would not be there in the factory plug. Hope this helps.....

From the factory, there was one wire, brown I think, going to the lamp "L" terminal. From the alt, it went through the dash light through the ign switch, and then to B+. Here is a decent overview of a CS-130 model, similar to our CS-144. http://www.alternatorparts.com/cs130_sbpage1.htm
Don't connect the "L" terminal directly to B+ without a lamp/resistor or the reg will be toast. If you would want to maintain a slightly higher, more constant voltage at the battery, you could do like I have done. Get a connector pin for the sense "S" terminal and run it to the battery + terminal. That way, the alt will make up for any voltage dropped in the wire between the alt and the battery. I put a 1 wire connector at the back of the alt & a mini fuse at the bat for safety.
