1. What is the advantage and disadvantage of removing the EGR system?
2. With it blocked off do I need to change my idle to open loop?
3. What do I do with the solenoid and wiring?

Less clutter.

I didn't change my idle at all since EGR is non-functional at idle.

Solenoid dismounts easy enough, wiring can be tucked away/zip tied safely from any heat objects.

1) Advantage: It cleans up the DS of the intake manifold tremendously. Disadvantage: Al Gore kills a kitten.
2) Nope
3) Throw it into a box 'just in case', then after years of tripping over it and getting tired of it's freeloading, throw in down the mouth of an open volcano.
