Anyone have one in their car? I bought one, installed it and test drove it yesterday. I was wondering how firm the shifts in this trans are supposed to feel.

My original trans was big time tired so it wasn't much to compare to.

1-2 shifts are firm, but not tire chirping. Is this normal?

I have played with the tv cable a bit and this helps. I do not want to crank the tv cable too much before I determine if it is shifting as it is supposed to.

Don't get me wrong. I am not saying or thinking there is anything wrong with this transmission. Just trying to figure out what I am supposed to expect.

It is a BRF built with a 2,800 converter.

Thanks,

Joel

Pretty much normal like the one I have in the GN.

The HI-PRO model in the WE4 kinda snaps your neck a bit for some reason.... ;)

I really like the street-strip with the 3K vigilante in it. :)

Shifts firm but not harsh kinda like a new stocker. If my memory is close to being correct on that one. :D

Hi-Pro here built by Eric Schertz , Shifts firm but not too hard very "friendly" on the street and NO nasty downshifts either:D

Ok thanks guys. Seems like all is fine then. I ASSumed that a fresh, performance build like this should have a tire barking 1-2 shift. This is the tranny that he says is good to the low 11's right?

It seems that that such a tire barking 1-2 shift is not necessarily needed or good.

Thanks,

Joel

The more "shock" to the tranny the more abuse it has to take along with your rear end . When I picked up my car from Eric he told that Drag Radials arent too friendly to trannys because they usually spin than hook shocking the tranny rather than leaving off the line with slicks and having a load on the trans constantly.

I have the street/strip and it is not a hard shift. I was wondering the same think but I called Eric and all is well. I have had no problems with my trans. He told me the trans. should live in a low 11 sec. car with no problems.

Chris thanks for the reassurance. I sent Eric an e-mail, but from what I have heard he doesn't spend too much time on line.

My car will never be in the 11's, so it sounds like I will be in good shape! ( I just want to chirp 2nd under wot though)

:)

Hey Joel, best thing to do is call Eric himself. He is a great guy and build quality stuff, with quality parts. Eric will more than happy to tell ya all about your trans. Mark :D

I have the hi-pro and it shifts smooth. I could change the t.v. to make it more harsh, but I like the stock(original)set-up.Love it!!
