How effective is it and what type of damage if any could it do to my brakes or master cylinder?

E brake is cable operated. I dont like using it as it has bent some backing plates in the past IME.

I did this once not too long after I started getting into racing my GN(about 45 seconds after I bought it).I can't remember how high I took it,boost wise, but when I pulled the release, the pedal came back so hard that it bent the E-brake stops, and broke the trigger for the idiot light. The brake light has been on ever since as a reminder to my stupidity. It was one hell of a burnout, though!

i do it but my car is only a high 11's car. works great but i have been warned also. heard from jack cotton he once ripped a backing plate off the rear.

If your looking for a good launch, get a trans brake. If your looking to break stuff, use your e-brake.
