I heard it was supposed to be pretty good. We'll see, you know holywood. They can F^%$ stuff up pretty good when they want to.

It was pretty well done but too condensed. Another 30 minutes could have gone a long way. Since Daytona Speedway became a large part of his story, it failed to portray all the non-500 successes he had there prior to his first 500 victory.

He was NASCAR's winningest Daytona driver (Twin-125s, Grand National, IROC) but could never snare the big one until his 21st attempt. That's what made it all so sweet when it finally happened.

Other than that, they did a good job. No Hollywood fluff or corny stuff. The last scene was a nice touch as well.

Thought they did a good job with the limited amount of time they had. No mention of him starting DEI, Junior becoming a champion in Busch series TWICE, his final win at Talladega where he came from 18th with 3 laps to go and wins. Ending was cool.

I didn't like how they kept referring to dying thru the whole movie. We all knew how it ended so I don't think they had to keep mentioning it.

When him and Jr were talking on that dock the group 3 Doors Down was playing on the radio, didn't they become popular well after Dale was gone?

The "rattle his cage" quote. Wonder if he said that all the time? I know most people remember him saying this at that Bristol win where he said it after knocking Terry LaBonte out of the way.

He is sorely missed. Did anyone catch the special live show they had on ESPN Classic after the movie? Was good except for that bonehead Geoff Bodine being on it.

I watched it and thought it was pretty good. I didn't really know all the much about him and I thought it captured his background pretty good.

Later,

Steve.

It was a great movie except for the rubbing of the sides of the car. Everyonre knows Dale ran you down from the rear. Kind of made the story a little cheesey.

Especially when that is what made him such a big winner in his day,Should have been a bigger part of the movie

Good story but how about the acting? wow
The kid that played Dale was the sharpshooter from Saving Private Ryan so I have seen him before and Ralph was the Psych doctor from Law And Order. The rest of them.........I don't know

"That Barnie Rubble........What an actor!"

That's Barry Pepper. He also played Roger Maris in "*61". BTW, I don't care anything about Nascar, but loved "3"!

In the scene where dale was talking with humpy wheeler there was a driver leaning on a 71 olds 442 convertible, that car belongs to co-worker of mine. he lives in concord NC:cool:

Thought it was a cheez fest and sucked in general.
Too compressed.

They layed out things in a way that made Dale Jr seem like a jerk : mad:

They should not have condensed it into a 90 min special. That story deserves to be a full three HR movie. With a quality cast I might add. Most of those actors were laughable.

Did ya see the interviews with DW and Bodine.
They agreed he liked to say "I just wanted to rattle his cage".
