Spoke with Doug Dougherty and verified that this year is basically the same as last year. Most important details are the deadline for preregistration is Sept. 30, racing on Friday test and tune and Saturday is $30 preregistered, $50 at the gate.

The host track is Cecil Co. Dragway, North East, MD, just north of the Susquehanna River about an hour north of Baltimore and an hour south of Philadelhia, PA. Go west on Rt. 272 from exit 100 on I95 about 1/4 mile, go left at the light in front of Cecil Co. Junior College, go left at the sign after less than 1/4 mile, the track is on the left after a mile to a mile and a half (go slow on this road as there are dips and potholes).

Friday, Oct. 9: All Buick test and tune with BOP time trials and gamblers race. Track opens at 9 am. [I assume that the normal Friday test and tune begins at 5 or 6 pm]

Saturday, Oct. 10: All Buick Race Day. Track opens at 9 am, eliminations mid afternoon.

Saturday, Oct. 10: All Buick Display Show, at the track.

Manufacturers and Swap Meet Friday and Saturday at the track.

Race classes:
V: All V8 powered
FD: Front wheel drive
T: V6 and turbos
PP: Powder puff
Q16: Qualified quick 16

Grrr, that's October 8 and 9, not 9 and 10, and of course I can't change the thread name either. Sorry, guys.

Thanks for the info Carl. Our local car club, MAGNA - www.magnabuick.com, is planing on having a LARGE showing.

You can also check out our related threads on our bulletin board.

This event is ALWAYS a great time, hopefully this year will be even better.

Just write a note listing what you are paying for, with the racer's names if you are sending money in for other drivers, and include it with the check. The prices are at the end of the first post.

FYI, I am NOT affiliated with the club that is hosting the event. They'd be the ones to answer that question.

Jack Cotton and Dynotech will be there and possibly HR Parts and ESP. If I hear of anyone else I will post it. Friday is a great day to test-n-tune so tell yours friends even if it isn't a Buick to come on down.

I had no luck scheduling a vacation day for Friday, but I do plan on being there Saturday. I can't say when or for how long, as much of my plans will be dictated on production schedule at the job. I will definitely be there as a spectator, and potential buyer at the swap meet.

Speaking of the swap meet, it leads me to ask a question. I've got a set of Weld Draglite skinnies (complete with 165R15's) I was planning on taking to the meet. They were on my GN when I bought it. I have no present or future plans to race the car, so keeping them makes no sense. Though selling them was the initial plan, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in swapping them for a pair of 15x7's. Anyone with any questions concerning the wheels can drop me an e-mail (rabidcoyote97@yahoo.com) and we can discuss it. Thanks for the time, and I apologize if I offended anyone by taking the thread a bit off-course. See you all there!

Mike

Just wanted to verify something...

Do the gates open at 9am, or does racing start at 9?
