Does anyone use a legitimate EBay bid sniping tool? You know, that cute little program thay monitors an auction and then bids the auction up at the last 10 seconds or so to your highest bid if necessary.

I'd rather have a recommendation rather than search for one only to find it's a scam and then they have my Ebay credentials.

Thanks!

I've been using Auctionsniper.com for a few years. Works well for me.

I never understood those snipe tools. Why not just bid your max you want to pay and forget about it ?

I tend to agree. I usually proxibid to about 10% more than what I would like to get it for, so I don't feel bad if I lose it over a couple bucks after that. Couple things I wanted pretty bad, I actually watched the end of it and bid pretty high at the last minute. BUT I've also ignored stuff that had lots of early bids on it figuring it'll go too high, and then no one else gets in at the end . You still have to beat the previous proxibids, so if I want it worse I can bid in the first hour and still get it.

I've never used it but I think the best way to explain it is it removes the "auction" hype mode where you will bid more than you wanted because you are in "the moment".

Alot of people will bid more at the end if they just got beat out. " F-it, I'll go another $20". It eliminates this option to the other bidders and it works.

This doesn't work on sites like Gunbroker. They have a 15min rule..

I like it because I don't need to be at a computer if you like to bid at the last seconds of an auction like I do. With auction sniper I still enter the max I'd pay for an item. But it bids for you 7 seconds before an auction ends, or whatever time you set it to. It increases your chances of winning...and you don't get into a last minute bidding war with other bidders. Truly a "set it and forget it" deal.
