Anything else to check other than MAF if scan tool sends EC34? computer reboot gives code 12, which i understand to mean that ECM is ok.
other possible ideas-
Tubing between turbo and intercooler could be shot
ambient air tub after the MAF is stock and looks bad
vacuum leak somewhere
engine idles a little better without MAF connected, but still not very good. sputters and may die when increasing throttle.
