Total dummy regarding trannys and TCs.
87 Gn / hybrid turbo slightly bigger than a GT3255 / 50s / alky / 3" downpipe / valve springs / 61k on the odometer.
This combo has never been down the track. Old basically stock setup hit high 12s a few times.
What do I need for a TC and tranny rebuild?
Want a street car I can depend upon, and be able to run low 12s and maybe a high 11 the few times I go to the strip. I really only want to hit that 11 once so I can brag a bit.
Choices vary from re-using the D5 and having a local shop go through the tranny, to the sky's the limit. Unfortunately, my budget does have a limit.
Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks
Paul

3000 stall lockup, name brand converter.

Street/strip or Hi-Pro Dynotech tranny build up.

Eric at Dynotech sells Protorque converters which work fine, got one with my Hi-Pro tranny buildup in salvageV6.

I lock mine up in 3rd gear when racing.

My street/strip Dynotech tranny car the GN has a vigilante 3000 stall single disk lockup in it which works great for me.

Both stock longblock drivers, both have hit the 11's on pump gas and alky.

Eric builds a good transmission. :)
