Well I ended changing out my egr and my black original plastic cover doesn't sit right anymore have any of you changed ur egr out and have the same problem ? If so where are u buying the plastic cover for this new egr valve ?
 
My cover doesn't "snap" on like the old one did but it just sits there- just along for the ride and it is always there...

That's exactly whats going on with mine it doesn't snap like it did with the other one it just sits there and I thought about just leaving it like that but worried that it would rattle itself off and lose it ... But I guess I might just do the same let it ride and hope it doesn't go anywhere since there isn't really any other option other than not use it at all I might use some kind of double sided tape or something as an extra measure for now
 
If you're in Orange County, you must have the Smog Basin Special inspection routine. So, how do you get past it with an '87 chip? Out here in the boonies, where we only have the 2-speed idle test, some of your other stuff might be a crap shoot. I don't think you'd even get started with an '87 ECM and an '85 motor.

Smog was a success hell yea!!! The egr cap just stays on I guess lol even though it doesn't snap on like before it stays in place so I can live with that
