Sould I remove the turbo before I drill the hole in the header?

Don't wanna get anything in the turbo. But man that's a lot of work for one hole.

Any ideas?

Imagine how much work it would be if shavings got into the turbo!

Remove the turbo!

Stuff a rag down inside the header and vacuum it out afterwards to make sure there are no shavings that could get into the turbo.

It souldn't hurt anything by not removing your turbo. We have done several with out removing it. Your talking about very fine shaving (1/8 drill bit) and your on the EXHAUST side. The shaving will flow into the turbo exhaust housing with the air and straight out the downpipe and out the exhaust. The shaving can't get into the bearing or the inlet side where it would go into the motor and cause damage. Seems like a lot of unneeded work. ??

Agree- just start drilling it with a brand new drill bit and once your half way, clean off the tip of your drill bit... If your real worried about it, put some grease on the bit and drill the final portion, some of the shavings will stick to the grease and you will have less left overs in the pipe-

Just drill it and dont worry about it-
