I ran my car at the track this weekend, and put my egt meter on peak hold. This is an 1/8 mile track. I got peak egt's of 1699. That seems too high, but no knock at all. 21 psi on about 110 octane. Should I richen it up? Is it OK if it doesn't knock? Thanks!

you were probably pig rich.....turn your fuel pressure down a bit and if your egt drops, you are waay rich (burning fuel in the ex manifold) ...keep doing this until egt turns around and goes back up....that is where you start tuning

You think so? I don't know, the car was slow, but the direct scan files look good. I only ran 7.57 at 93 mph, with a 1.801 60 foot. No traction, which I'm sure killed the et. I'll try that azgn, thanks for the advice. So its not likely that I was running that lean?

you would have seen knock at 1699 in the 1/8.....you were fat....that'll slow you down just as bad as lean (just not as expensive:) )

find your reference point on the egt....what makes it go up and down..and you'll be there
