EGT thermocouples/probes?

Ok, I have an idea on which meters to get for EGT, (EGT meter thread), but does anyone have recommendations on thermocouple probes?

I was hoping for something with an 1/8" sheath, so I could mount it using a compresion fitting (swagelock) in a NPT bung. It should be K type, mini-connector, and not to expensive (of course )

Exposed tip?
Inconel?
High temp connector?
Which vendor, which part number?

Automotive instruments including EGTs and 30 in/Hg-30 psi vacuum/boost gauges.
They also deal with aircraft quality gauges.

I know they have the 1/8" probes as well as 1/4" ones.

I use a Westach probe, K-type with a compression nut type connection. It screws into a 3/8-24 nut that I welded on the header. Here is the link to these type: http://www.frostalarm.com/cat/p33.html

The westach probes are EXPENSIVE. I need at least two, and they will cost more than the meter.

The probe is what I want, but again $48 is a lot. SMC's clamp on is $39, so a basic probe without the clamp or fittings should be less.


I need to find a manufacturer, and cut out the middle man.
