Ok, right I am in the process of upgrading all the "systems" of my car before I really try to do anything with it or heavily tear into the engine ( ie. intake/heads/rebuild.cam........) . Plan to do the 160 thermostat, and have purchased a 87 electric fan. Thought of getting an aftermarket electric thermostat and wiring everything up but from reading posts think maybe I should just go ahead and do the 87 ecm thing and get one of the wiring kits from caspers. Not sure what all else I am getting into......... what else I will need? Any help appreciated..........hate learning from my mistakes :p Thanks, Kevin

Your plan is a plug and play, but the 87 ECM will look for
a inlet temperature and throw a trouble code when it
doesn't find the MAT sensor. The Casper kit and sensor install
is the cure for this. The other problem is the proper chip for the ECM to run with the hot air car. Casper can supply this, too.
