Okay guys here is my problem, i just changed my chip in my 87 t-type. the car ran fine for awhile, i took the car to get it washed, after it was washed it started to run like crap. It sounds like it's running on three cylinders. It stalls after driving it for awhile, Now it still runs but very rough. I just bought the chip from eric marshall { turbo tweak}. I checked all fuses everything is good, all vaccuum lines are fine. I changed the computer and it still runs like crap. Now the scanmaster unit doesn't work, any ideas, the car sat all winter with under a quarter tank of fuel, when the car is running it has alot of black smoke coming out of the tail pipes. the coil pack has alot of spark is it possible it still may not be enough to run correctly? any and all feed back is appreciated.

Ok so the car ran fine after pulling it out of winter storage and ran fine to get it washed.
Then after washing it started screwing up???

Chip installed per instructions I assume.. do a tap test on maf at idle, sounds suspect maybe.

Hi,
Do you have a check engine light on?The scanmaster is out, no data?Have you tried manual code retreival, counting the cel flashes? If your maf is out, and the cel still functions, you will have it continuously illuminated.
The motor didn't get washed during your spring cleanup, did it? If so, maybe wet, tracking wiring is the main culprit, but there are a lot of other possibilities. Some sensors are pretty leaky after all these years, as are any old connections. Try a few things, and please get back to the group. Good luck.

problem

the most likely culprit is the new TurboTweak chip. I had the same problem with using one that had the fast update code programmed in it. Put your old chip back in the car and see if the problem goes away. If the problem no longer exists with your old chip, contact Eric and let him know what's happening. He's very helpful and will get things sorted out for you. Any time you have a problem with the car after changing something (a problem that was not there before the change), it's most likely whatever got changed that is causing the problem.
