Empire Carpet Price?

Bedroom is 22'x11' with 14 stairs leading up to it and the closet. ruffly about 480 square feet of carpet. Empire came and did an estimate there best carpet with the thickest padding and the guy said $3400. I told him I would have to think about it and he dropped the price to $1500. I still didn't take it because I wanted to shop around some more but is that a good price?

If it is truly high grade carpet and padding, that price doesn't sound too bad. I paid $1400 for carpet and padding in my family room which is a little under 400 square feet. My brother in laws family owns a large carpet company and that was his cost on just the carpet and padding (he installed it for free). He did tell us that we picked the absolutely most expensive carpet they carry....my wife has a nack for that kind of thing

11x22=242 square feet,stairs=96 square feet tops...=338?ask him how many yards of carpet are you ordering...or ask him what the role size is(12xwhat)or(15xwhat)...
