this is real JDM, and this is one of the reasons people like japanese stuff so much. they do things like this to there cars. This is why I bought japanese carbon kevlar seat, takata harness, avcr boost controller, and riken wheels. I call it my jdm flare :) This car is sick with it, and can bring it to anyone in any car in any race on pavement. That is respect, and I respect japanese tuners.

you have to give credit where its due, even if its jap. lol. i'm sure that car puts down some damn respectable numbers, but if you think that sounds good, you sir, are not right. lol.

this is how a car should sound.

That gearbox alone is probably 40K+ :eek: Skylines are in my top 5 for badass cars. Japanese cars are good because the people take PRIDE in what they produce, sorry to say that most Americans could care less as long as they are getting paid :(

Sayin in a "Crockadile Dundee" voice: " Well, You call that a caar kid"? This is a Caar!!

That was OKAY!

Here is something I would like to see Japan try and top!

American Muscle SOUND!!
American Muscle Speed!
Car off the showroom doing the "RING" in only 26.4 nimutes!!
Not to mention a kick ass driver and crazy driving!!!

This here is it!!

didn't the spec v skyline come seconds close to it?

and its only a v6! That is pretty dam close to topping it with 2 less pistons.
being a gn guy I like abusing a 6 to keep up or beat an 8 :)

Id crap my paints if I ever got to run the ring. I have over 250 hours in simulation time on that course. Hell if I was rich and could actually afford are skyline or a zr1, I would love to build a GN g body and go run the course. That would be the best video of ALL FREAKING TIME!

It's a straight six.

7:22.1 2009 Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR
7:24.3 Maserati MC12
7:25.3 Ferrari Enzo
7:26.4 2009 Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1
7:27.56 2010 Nissan GT-R

And the big winner back in 2005 - 6:55 Radical SR8

By simulation, you mean Gran Turismo 1,2,3,4? :biggrin:

If that's the case I have logged at least 3 years.

Cool video, very nice Skyline. Fortunately I know how to appreciate a nice machine regardless of what country it's from. :rolleyes:

hey! i gave credit where credit is due, and i appreciate all the time/effort/money that was sunk into that r34. that is a BAMF machine, and i would love to ANY r34 for that matter. but you will never convince me that it sounds good. and scot's right, the zr1 will do that but with an LSx growl and a supercharger whine. :biggrin:

I'll take the ZR1 thank you. It doesn't have a waterford crystal transmission and will lap most Supercars STOCK. Plus that GT-R is butt ugly IMO. American all the way...........:D

Ken

hey I love vettes dont get me wrong, the zr1 = sick!! But I hate the interior, I dislike the clear hood, and no titanium exhaust. but I just love that sound of boost and an open wastegate a little more then an 8, not to mention a boosted 6 keeping up with (and in spec v form beating) a boosted 8, now that is tight! But then again my first car was a grand national, and I did wait till I was 20 to drive so I am weird huh :)

second the skyline r35 is NOT an inline six. And the Nur numbers above for the skyline where merely the R35 stock number, not the new Spec V. Rumors going around the spec V hits the ring in 7:20. The motor for the R35 skyline is a 3.8l (sounds familiar?) TWIN turbo charged, V6 (not inline), with all motors being hand built :) The Spec V has 80 seconds of overboost,carbon brakes, 132 lbs lighter , and a titanium exhaust stock. The old skylines where all inline 6's but not this new beast.

<-- Gt1, Gt2, Gt3 prolog, Gt3, gt3 Jap version, Gt4 prolog, Gt4, gt4 Jap version Gt5 prolog, that's 9. And I have played them all, in reality my 250 hour estimate on the ring is extremely low. And if you enjoy this game I highly recommend the japs versions, they are way harder, the challenges are different, the times for the challenges too and the A.I. in the game are all increased difficulty. "the skyline is ugly" lol thats a first.

to each his own for sure, but watch when the spec v comes out it will beat the zr1 on the RING.

You are correct, the R35 is not an in-line 6. The R34 which is in the video is.

In Japan, 10 percent of Nissan’s sales outlets will offer GT-Rs and we expect a similar ratio Stateside.

Engine and Drivetrain:

* The engine designation is VR38DETT (Twin Turbocharged 3.8-liter V6) 60-degree vee angle and bore spacing with Nissan’s acclaimed VQ-Series, which is used in everything from the 350Z to several Infiniti SUVs. Few parts are shared between the two engine series.

* 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds
* 11.7 seconds in the quarter mile
* 192 mph top speed (Autoweek 193mph)
* 7:38:54 Nurburgring
* 0.99 lateral G
* Carbon fiber propshaft
* GR6 transmission -transaxle (The shifting is done via a direct, twin-clutch system. One clutch handles the odd gears and another clutch handles the even ones. Shifts take 0.2 seconds.) Aichi Kikai (Car and Driver)
* Below 25 mph the torque split is 50/50, above that, under normal driving, the split is 40/60. But it can split up to 2/98 under hard acceleration.
* Unlike versions of this system in other Nissan vehicles—the Infiniti G35x, for example—the GT-R setup employs a yaw sensor and is capable of instantly transferring torque from side to side, as well as fore-and-aft, as conditions dictate.

* Mostly flat undertray
* Front diffuser
* Rear carbon fiber diffuser
* Brembo Brakes

Standard Equipment:

* HDD Satellite Navigation System
* Electronic Traction Control
* Cruise Control
* Electrical Adjustable Seats
* Heated Seat (Premium Edition)
* MFD by Polyphony (Inside Line)

Options:

* Titanium muffler (10 kg lighter)
* Anti-theft immobilizer 250,000 JPY

All models will have the same engine spec 3.8L Twin Turbo (not 3.7L), VQ38VHRTT 473hp 58.0 kgm Torque, however the Evo will a much lighter and have carbon parts all around and will be a 2 seater only. No rear bucket seats. These have been removed to save a few kilos.

my error

You must mean the 2010/11 as it has not been tested. They say same power output as series II Vspec.

all good! its not an error though, its a mistake. Mistakes only turn into errors when you don't correct them. To be perfectly honest a ZR1 or a Skyline Spec V, in reality I would have to do weeks of reading and Q&A's before I would really decide to buy one or the other. Both cars are freaking wicked!

now a tad off topic. NOTACARLO, THAT IS A SIG. AWESOME! haha I love it! My favorite used to be (before my rebuild) video tapping them through my rear view mirror.
