I decided to start doing my own engine balancing. After searching around for a rod balancing fixture, I couldn't find one that I thought was worth the price........so I just made my own.
The pucks that go into the big and small end of the rod are on needle bearings. The trapeze slides on the horizontal bar with linear bearing
Total investment with the high precision scale (0.1 gram) about $300.
I figure this stuff will pay for itself on the second balance job.
I can now weight match the components and send the crank out to be balanced.
