Absolutely in a street car, in a race/street engine(over 500hp) I would only hesitate somewhat on the .030 because you cant buy a race bearing in more than a .020 under. Cutting the crank .030 will not weaken it, the cranks break between the journals and .030 under doesnt even com close to cutting the fillet. If you cut it .040, you only slightly get into the fillet area.
Proper griding and straightening is the only key to longevity.

I also build motors in the area. I do build alot that are faster than my personal car too. Because my customers have more money than i do :D or i don't charge enough for my work!!?? Let me know if i can help in anyway. ;) :D Frank
