I Just Reasently Picked Up A 87 T-type And Its Making A Kind Of Knocking Or Rattling Noise. The Guy I Got The Car From Said It Was The Torque Converter. The Knocking Only Occurs In First Once It Shifts To Second The Knocking Is Gone. I Changed Out The Converter Yesterday And It's Still Knocking. So I Was Woundering If The Sound Could Possibly Be The Tranny? The Transmission Will Not Shift Into Second Unless I Let Of The Gas. I Tried Shifting It Manualy Into Second From First And It's Like There Is No More Second Gear. I Would Greatly Appriciate Any Help You Guys Can Give Me. Thanks

Simple test for you. Unbolt the converter and slide it away from the flexplate. Fire it up and listen. If the sound is gone you know it's not the engine.
