I could use some direction on what to do. My car seems vey unhappy once the mass-air meter readings max out at 253. I know that they are supposed to go to 255, but mine stop at 253. When I punch the gas it seems that it's coughing or popping back through the intake maybe a couple of times over a 3-4 second period of time that I'm at WOT. O2's are in the low 800's with KR showing up at the same time as the popping.

255 what?

Suggest you search for the posts on MAF drop out. Lots of good info in those posts. Could even answer your question and provide some help.;) ;)

Heck, I havent seen my maf #s go over 247 yet! But oh yeah, Ive got one of those slow hotair cars  ;) .

You need to be able to do some accurate data logging to get some idea of what's actually going on.
If it's MAF Drop out that would show on a Direct Scan log. I could just as easily be an ignition miss. without accurate diagnostics you'll just be guessing and replacing parts till you find the problem. First and easiest thing to try is setting the plug gap to .030, and see if that clears it up, Oh and yes only AC plugs

Thanks guys!

Thanks for the info, I think I'll be picking up a DS over the next few weeks. That seems to be the way to go to solve most problems. I'll get back to you when I have some actual numbers to report.
