How dificultit is to swap a grand national engine into a non computer control vehicle? Do i have to use the original wiring harness from the grand national engine or is there other ways to do it. I am thinking of dropping a grand national SFI engine into a 1978 buick regal. please any advise?

Difficulty will depend on your knowledge of GNs, resources, and scrounging ability (along with money).

You will have to use GN wiring and extras from the front all the way back to the gas tank. It's not something you can just 'drop in'.

If a little $$ is not an issue, then call up John Spina(Caspers Electronics). He can make up a custom harness to speed up the wiring part alot. Gas tank & fuel system has to match the SFI engine, also. If you are familiar with the 84 to 87 engines, then it should not be a big deal. Alot of hard work, but not a big deal. It is really best to have an almost complete parts car to pull the needed parts from, in my experience. Just my .02
