Engine under hood light question

I just got the light housing to mount under the hood for a stock light , the problem is the cord from the light is really short and dont know where to plug it in , Thanks in advance for any help or pics , Keith

If you have the correct light it is controlled by a mercury switch inside of the housing. It will turn on when the correct angle makes the mercury complete the circuit. I would connect it to constant power but make sure the light goes off when the hood closes or is almost closed. You can disconnect the connector when you have the hood open at a car show for easy access.
