Enigine knocking

Is it normal for the engine to knock when turbo boost kicks in? If not, how do I correct?

The knocking you hear, is it engine knock (rods, crank, lifters) or detonation?
Either way need to stop driving and do a complete check and figure it out.

Actually first thing I would do is turn the boost down and see if it goes away.

I thought it sounded like detonation. How do I turn down the boost?

Do you have a adjustable wastegate. If so the rod will screw out for less boost.
