It could be worse... you could be outta coffee!! AAAAAhhhh noooo. j/k.
I lost most everything in a flood last year. Landlord said dont worry about rent for that month, then turned her back on me and kicked me out via lawyer for not paying rent.
I had to move in with my dad, who is a packrat. I mean, to the extent that all of our former rooms are filled with crap and Ive slept on the couch and had all my clothes in boxes for the last 6 months.
My daily driver that got 37mpg and I had just put a new stereo in was lost in the flood (only liability ins on it!) and my Cruiser got about 6" of water, and it was either report the claim to insurance and still be paying off the gap on what I owe, or make all the repairs myself. I am still cleaning it up.
I also had both my credit cards decide to give up on me, wouldnt work with me during the flood, so they both went to collections. One worked with me and got it paid off. The other, Im still fighting. Then this morning I got a call from the first CC saying they have no record of any of my westorn union money payments to pay off my account, and now I have to provide all the proof to them! My e brake on the Cruiser failed the other day, and it rolled back into a pole and caused an estimate of $1300 in damage.
Oh and did I mention my Regal has been sitting in my portable garage for the last 3 years untouched, needs PS door, qtr panel work, trunk floor, and some other stuff, not to mention the busted fuel lines that put it there in the first place. And the garage ripped a bit and almost collapsed on it a week ago due to the heavy snow(been up 10 years though), now the neighbors cats have gotten into it and theres crap and dead mice in the garage (not the car) now.
Did I mention I also broke 2 of my crash cymbals lately and then my last set of sticks last night because I was drumming and got frustrated? (Been playing 17 years).
Oh and my coffee maker broke, but at least I had instant around. If I didnt have my coffee, well, then it just wouldnt have been worth it to get up now would it? lol.
It could always be worse. And, generally, someone else will chime in to tell you just how worse it could be. I helped with a benefit last saturday, for a kid that lost his battle with life due to an accident that left him brain dead, with a wife and 3 year old son. he was only 25 years old. So we got a whole bunch of bands together and played and raised money for his family. It wasnt a lot, but his family sure appreciated the help. So, it could always be worse.
